I was in France before I moved to the Pacific Northwest in 2007. This song is an ode to the Salish Sea and who I've become thanks to this amazing region. This is the first song I wrote in French for the uke + voice.
lyrics
Je mange, les capucines, au ferme biologique.
O, comme les choses sont belles.
La moitié de ma vie, je n'étais pas ici,
Mais me voilà, mais me voilà.
Ici, il y a des racines.
O, comme les choses sont belles.
{English translation}
I eat, nasturtiums, on an organic farm.
Oh, how things are beautiful.
For most of my life, I didn't live here.
But here I am, but here I am.
Here I have roots.
